Michael T. Lively
Michael Lively is a Senior Lecturer in Music Theory at Southern Methodist University and holds a PhD in music theory from the University of North Texas. His research interests primarily focus on music theory pedagogy, the music of Florence Price, and the importance of identity in Music Scholarship. His publications include articles in the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy (2005), Music Educators Journal (2017), Gamut: Journal of the Music Theory Society of the Mid-Atlantic (2020), College Music Symposium (2023), and a forthcoming article in Music Theory Spectrum (2027). He is a member of the Association of Asian and Pacific American Scholars at SMU.
